What attributes are
They're extra facts about your business that Google can show on your profile and use to match searches. Which ones you can pick depends on your category and country, so two businesses won't always see the same list.
The ones worth setting
- Identity attributes, where they apply and are true: women-owned, veteran-owned, family-owned and similar. Some customers specifically look for them.
- Payment options: cards, contactless, and whether you offer payment plans.
- Accessibility, if you have premises customers visit.
- Service options that describe how you actually work, like onsite services for trades.
How to add them
- Open your profile on Google while signed in.
- Choose Edit profile.
- Look under Business information or More for the attributes section.
- Tick what applies and save.
Do attributes help ranking?
They can help you show for searches that include that attribute, and they help someone choose between you and the next listing. They won't outweigh categories, reviews or distance.
Some attributes are set by customers
Google asks customers questions about businesses they've visited, and some attributes come from those answers. If one is wrong, update it yourself and keep an eye on it.
Rather not do this yourself? Our Google Business Profile management handles the profile, the posts and the reviews every week, for one monthly fee.
