Emergency searches pay first
Burst pipes, blocked toilets and no hot water are searched by people who will ring someone in the next ten minutes. Being in the map pack for those searches in your area is worth more than any other single thing. That means the right primary category, a services list naming every emergency job, and reviews that keep coming.
Property managers
One property manager can send you dozens of jobs a year: leaking taps, hot water failures, blocked drains between tenants. They want someone who answers, turns up, sends photos and invoices cleanly. Drop into the local agencies with a card and a simple promise about response time, then deliver on the first job.
Builders and renovators
Rough-ins and fit-offs for builders are steady work that doesn't depend on Google at all. Small builders and bathroom renovators in particular struggle to find a plumber who shows up when booked. Being that plumber fills weeks.
Hot water replacement
Hot water is often the best-margin job a residential plumber does, and people search for it by name. A dedicated page on your site and a dedicated entry in your services list for gas, electric and heat pump replacement catches searches that a generic "plumbing services" page never will.
Your own past customers
- Ask every customer for a review by text the same day.
- Leave a sticker with your number on the hot water unit or meter box.
- Send a reminder when a hot water system you installed is getting close to the age they usually fail.
- Ask happy customers if they know anyone with a dripping tap or slow drain.
Google Ads, done tightly
Ads on emergency, hot water and drain searches, only in the hours you answer, with DIY and parts searches excluded. Done properly they fill the gaps while your profile and reviews build up.
Rather not do this yourself? Our Google Business Profile management handles the profile, the posts and the reviews every week, for one monthly fee.
